An One-Half Option will automatically apply to a married applicant if a Normal Form of Payment is not selected.  All Options are subject to Section 13 and the associated Rules of the Retirement Plan for CTA Employees.

Option A:

Provides a monthly benefit for the life of the spouse upon the death of the retiree. If the Spouse dies before the retiree, the retiree's monthly benefit remains at the reduced amount for life.

 

Provides a monthly benefit for the life of the spouse upon the death of the retiree. If the Spouse dies before the retiree, the retiree's monthly benefit reverts to the amount as if no survivorship option had been taken.
